Huntsman Golf Tournament
Although Sigma Chi's main national philanthropic organization remains the Children's Miracle Network, the Huntsman Cancer Institute was added as an additional beneficiary in 2005. The Huntsman Cancer Institute, an NCI-designated cancer center, is located at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT, and is funded by Sigma Chi Jon Huntsman, Sr. Since opening it just years ago, Huntsman has donated more than $250 Million of his own wealth in funding the cancer research center.

The Eta Lambda Chapter holds an annual charity golf tournament each fall that benefits the Huntsman Cancer Institute. This past year, we were able to raise over $3,000 in just the third year of the tournament's existence. This year's tournament will be held on October 17th and we have set our goal to raise and donate over $5,000. Sorority Philanthropy Involvement

Besides our chapter's involvement in the Children's Miracle Network, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, and Relay for Life, we also participate in many local sorority philanthropies. At Virginia Tech, each sorority typically has a fall or spring philanthropy that benefits their national charity.
We participate in these philanthropies in a number of ways, including skits, competitions, field game events, and monetary donations on campus. To contact our External Philanthropy Chair, please email Mark Larsen at lahz3@vt.edu.
